Hey all,

I’ve been quite busy over the last few weeks guide training out at base camp, learning medical skills, and doing whitewater training up near Duluth last weekend. We’ve gotten to get a few crew meetings in-between there where the crew has looked at the route they want to take, began paddling, learned how to set up tarps, how to pack the kettle pack, and of course more portaging! Now that the crew is done with school, things will start to become more busy. This weekend (June 7-9) we have a couple meetings with all of the crews for Food Packing Day at Cathedral, and Beef Jerky day/Voyageur Olympics on Sunday where the crew can put their new skills to the test. We will start dehydrating sometime next week and the crew will be needing to keep track of the food, and take care of of it when they are done. We are leaving in less than 6 weeks! It’s coming fast and I’m excited as all of these events get us one step closer to departing. (PS I haven’t yet figured out how to get photos off the crew cam so standby for more photos later)
