T-minus 5 days 😳

The girls have been working hard getting all preparation items complete. This Sunday, we spent a few hours trimming and slicing the meat for our beef jerky, and now the girls are dehydrating it. Sunday afternoon, the girls competed in the annual “Crew Olympics,” which is a friendly competition between the other crews, testing them on their paddle, portage, and camp skills. The Jiller Crew took 1st place!! I felt like a proud mom.

Monday night we brought our parents to base camp to show them what we’ve been up to. Thank you to everyone who came and provided food to share! It was fun to meet everyone <3

This morning we sorted through all of our personal gear. A couple shirts, couple pairs of shorts, and a sleeping bag and they’re set! Well, maybe a couple more items, but we try to keep our packs as light as they can be. We have a long packing day ahead of us on Thursday, but things are coming together nicely. Sunday will be here quick!
