Les Voyageurs Inc – Expeditions North would like to announce the hiring of Jack Grabinski as its new Program Director. Grabinski will replace Zach Fritz who has served as the program director for Les Voyageurs Inc since 2019 and successfully navigated the program through its leadership transition and the pandemic. Fritz is stepping back from the program in preparation for a 4-month long, 4,400 km canoe expedition from northern MN to the Arctic Ocean which will begin in May 2024 (www.theroutelesspaddled.com). Fritz will begin his transition to the board of directors over the next couple of months as Grabinski transitions into his leadership role.

Jack participated in the program from 2018 to 2023 and has guided both First Year trips as well as Far North expeditions. Grabinski most recently guided a Far North expedition down the Coppermine River to the Arctic Ocean in 2023. He is a 2023 graduate of Saint John’s University with degrees in biology and environmental studies and has experience in leading programs as an orientation leader, field researcher, and director of the student greenhouse program.

It is the mission of Expeditions North -LVI to expand the horizons of young people as it challenges their physical, psychological, social, and learning skills through an intense outdoor experience. Expeditions North – LVI is an 501© (3) non-profit organization providing a once in a lifetime experience to embark on a 28-day expedition into the remote Canadian wilderness.

The center piece of our program, Expeditions North, provides young people with an extensive outdoor leadership program that includes an expedition of 28 days into remote regions of central and northern Manitoba and Ontario. Each crew consists of seven young people (tenth grade and above) and one or two experienced guides. Far North is for experienced members to do a more intensive experience of up to 42 days, including trips to Hudson Bay and the Arctic Ocean.

We are excited for Jack to continue the legacy of Les Voyageurs Inc – Expeditions North.
